Saudades

Milton Nascimento - Hoje é dia de el Rey.

I finally know what my little baby's sex is. We are having a little girl! Selah Marie Kellman is her name. I have to be honest, I've been and was waiting for this little boy I'll be naming Orion Alexander (I'm am crazy about Greek Mythology and Astronomy) but God in his infinite wisdom, has chosen to send us a girl. I'm still thrilled with the news.

 Orion's nebula (isn't it gorgeous?)

This is the very first "picture" of our little girl at only 9 weeks:

Hahaha... Look at them little legs! She was kicking and stuff that day... Looking like a baby frog minus the tail... Hahaha
Already cute, says this observer! :-P

Now here, I forgot how far I was. The date is there, though. I think it was week 12 but I'm not sure.
The latest ones:

And as time passes and things happen, I cannot help but think about my ancestors, my friends, my beloved land. My loved ones that have already departed.

Going through the gestational diabetes process, I can understand a whole lot more grandma Madalena. The condition that, at the end, took her life. I miss her so much... Her green little eyes... Singing hymns with her... Her hands, her laugh, her wavy silver hair. Her delicious cooking. She was the pillar of our family. A praying warrior. She's left us close to the 1997's Christmas. I was 17.

I miss grandma Benaia, too. She's alive and well but I haven't seen her in so long. Familiar misunderstands, you know. Grandma Benaia is my dad's mom and the one that first tried to teach me how to use the sewing machine. Didn't work. I was too young and the sewing machine, defective. lol
I have this picture of them in my 2 year old birthday. That little thing looking so curiously at the cake is me and that preteen girl wearing a blue ribbon in her hair is one of my many cousins, Sandra or Sandrinha.

Here both grandma Benaia (far left) and grandma Madalena (right) help me cut the cake.

I love the "what's-going-on" expression in my face on this pic. Mom says I was just taking a nap before some of the family members got to our house to celebrate my birthday. I miss you too, mom.

Mom and dad.

I also miss my friends so dearly...

Luiz (black shirt) and Rigmor (far right) with cousin Flavia, myself and Joseph at our wedding reception.
My movie, music and booze partners.

Aunt Lenabel and cousin Linda.

My very much loved and still missed Wayne (standing) and his mama Sasha. I'm a sucker for German Shepherds.

And my beloved Rio de Janeiro where all these wonderful people above live.... or have once lived.

And its beautiful things, and the sunshine...

I cannot wait to come back with the girl in my arms so she can meet everybody and experience things.

Certeza.

    Take care.
