I've finally shot some pics of dolls. Not the baby ones but the thrift store Barbies I've bought last week. Wait. let me go upload them.
Ok, I'm back and here are some of the girls:
I decided to take them outside for shooting the pics because thanks to moi, the house is a super mess right now with my attempts of making doll clothes (I hate to see them naked) and painting the studio and I'm too embarrassed to shoot pics of the mess. Thank God for my understanding hubby. To top it all, for the last 2 or 3 days I've been dealing with general anxiety disorder/ depression issues, most likely triggered by the mess in my house right now which pretty much kinda locks me up and keeps me from doing stuff.
Anyways, boy, it's been sooo windy here the last two days.... Here they are (almost) all together. By the way, I got this little green chair at lil' bro's thrift store for only $9,99, can you believe it??!! No loose legs, perfect condition except for the painting but that will be taken care of as soon as the wind outside gives us a break. The paint stripper smells so bad...
The brown Barbie sporting a bikini with the Brazilian flag colors in it, I've been calling her "Brazilian girl". Her hair came in good condition. Blondie, in the middle, had to have her hair trimmed after the shower and fabric softner conditioned. Red headed to the right had her hair so tangled with mats! It was awful. I totally missed the opportunity of shooting "before" and "after" with these gals.
Now, I've found this little brunette that might be either one of Barbie's little friends or one of these silly teen superstar's replica. She's been outshined by another blondie as you can see in the pic.
Black haired has Asian features and the marks in her back says "Mattel Inc, 1966 Phillipines". now, I have a hard time to believe she's from the 60's 'cause her makeup is still looking too good... Who knows. Then, there's ballerina girl wearing the bodice that I made and another blondie in the back. Her hair is gorgeous!
And then, there's little Strawberry Shortcake. Her hair was tangled like there's no freaking tomorrow!! So I followed this tutorial and bang! It's like night and day now. She's wearing little shorts that were suppose to fit Blythe but got too small. Still need to put pockets and closure on it... Someday.
These are the only two ones that came dressed. The on in that ugly pink dress came in the box and the Arian one has longer hair but needed to be trimmed. Still very beautiful, though. purse and shoes in all the girls from accessories bought at Target.
There's more. But I'll keep it for next post.
